This notice explains what happens to your details when you join the InFluFlu waiting list on this website. It covers this website only. When InFluFlu opens to the public, the platform will have its own privacy policy and terms, and we will tell you before anything in this notice changes for you.
Who is responsible
Influflu Inc. is responsible for the personal data described here. We are a company based in the United States, and we handle your details there.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this notice still applies to you: we offer our service to people there, so European data protection law covers what we do with your details.
Questions, or want your details removed? Email privacy@influflu.com and we will act on it.
What we collect, and why
Your email address, when you submit the sign-up form. That is the only thing the form asks for. We use it to tell you when early access opens, and to send occasional updates about the launch.
If you share your referral link, we also record how many people joined through it, so we can place you in the queue.
Usage statistics, as you browse this site: which pages are opened, how long a visit lasts, roughly where in the world a visit comes from, and what kind of device and browser is used. This is how we learn which parts of the page work.
We do not buy personal data, and we do not sell or rent yours.
Who processes it for us
We use three outside services. They only process data on our instructions.
| Service | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| LaunchList | runs the waiting list and the referral queue | United States |
| Loops | keeps the mailing list and sends the emails | United States |
| PostHog | the usage statistics described above | United States |
Your details leave Europe. We are a United States company and so are all three providers, so if you sign up from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom your email address is stored and handled in the United States. We rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for that, and we only use providers who sign them.
If that is not acceptable to you, do not join the list, or email us and we will remove you.
Cookies and similar technology
We ask first. The first time you open this site you get a choice, and nothing is measured until you make it. If you say no, no analytics cookie is set and no usage data is sent, on that visit or any later one.
If you say yes, PostHog places one cookie so we can tell one visit from another and see whether someone came back. It is used for statistics only. We do not run advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not record your screen or your mouse movements.
You can change your mind at any time with Change your cookie choice at the bottom of any page, and you can delete the cookie through your browser settings. Either way the sign-up form keeps working.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or until twelve months after launch if you never activate an account, whichever comes first. Usage statistics are kept for a maximum of twelve months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your details
- stop using your details for marketing
- hand your details to you in a portable form
Email privacy@influflu.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from the mailing list. If you would rather we deleted everything, say so and we will.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects you materially, we will email you before it takes effect.
This notice is written in English, which is the authoritative version.
